Electronic engineering is the branch of engineering that deals with the use of electronic science and electronic components to obtain expected system. Electronic engineering deals with electronic component study, printed circuit board designing, calculations of various factors like current, voltage resistance, impedance, capacitance, resonance, reactance etc. for getting expected functionality from an electronic circuit. This branch of engineering also deals with understanding static and dynamic characteristics of components like transistors and other integrated circuits that are required in various complicated applications like television or telecom circuits.
Some subjects covered by electronic engineering
- applied sciences
- study of various electronic devices and circuits
- network analysis
- electromagnetic engineering
- different types of controls systems
- applications of electronics in communication field
- instrumentation engineering
- applications of electronics in computers
Applied sciences deals with the physical science of the conductors or semiconductors that are the raw material for making the electronic components and devices. This science mostly deals with the molecular theory of the semiconductors. The subject of electronic devices and circuits includes study of various types of transistors that are either p-n-p or n-p-n type, bipolar junction transistors (BJT), field effect transistors (FET) and various other transistors. It also covers study of various p-n junction diodes, cathode ring diode, photo diode etc.
The circuits are of two types: analog circuits and digital circuits. The analog circuits can be defined as circuits made of analog components like diodes, FET, BJT etc. Various amplifier circuits for example are analog circuits. On other hand the digital circuits are those that are made of components like logic gates and other digital electronic components that follow Boolean logic. The examples of digital circuits are various counters, latches, flip-flop circuits etc.
Translation Challenges
The communication systems covered under electronic engineering mainly deals of designing and creation of various types of circuits that deals with modulation of frequencies. The translator dealing in electronic engineering translation has to be familiar with the different frequency standards of a location along with language skills. This is because every country has their own regulations of allocating bands of frequencies for various applications like public use, defense use, for wireless of police department, etc. And if the translator translating information in this subject from source language to target language doesn’t understand the difference between the regulations of the two countries than the designing of electronic circuits that will be done based on the translated information would go to waste.
On the similar lines the translator providing electronic engineering translation has to be familiar with all aspects of the field and should preferably have practical experience in the field along with being a polyglot for accurate translation of information.
