Securities Translation

Securities translation is a specialized field that involves translation of information about different securities from one language to another desired target language. Securities translation includes reports of multinational corporations, security analysis, shares, documents related to shareholder meetings and stock exchange, security investment prospects, annual reports, and other miscellaneous projects.

An equity security such as equity shares is the instrument that denotes the interest in the ownership of a company or a corporatation. Such shares of a company have to be registered with the stock exchange board before being offered for investment to the public. This is also called “Initial Process Offering” or IPO. The equity shares are of two types: one in which individuals can invest money and the other in which institutions can invest money. The types of equity security are share equity/stocks, depository receipts related to corporate, warrants, and rights.

Government organizations or municipal corporations of cities also raise money by offering security bonds. They generally pay a fixed interest during their maturity, which is generally a fixed date after few years. These bonds are an example of debt security. The other forms of debt security are debentures, notes and certificate of deposits.

In our modern times of globalization, investors having interest in securities across geographical boundaries can now invest money to gain better returns on their investments. This new trend in securities investment has made corporate and government bodies design strategies to attract more investors for security options. This has made it necessary for marketing the different securities in the local native languages thus making room of opportunity for securities translation service industry.

Secondly the broker agencies or broker companies working in the fields of securities have setup operations at different locations globally to attract investments. These companies need different documents like securities report, analytical reports, and securities prospects to be translated in the local native languages. Also the reports and other communication documents like day-to-day analysis need translation from local languages to the language of the head office location. All these types of translations are covered under securities translation specialty.

The other areas that require securities translation are the multinational corporate whose securities are traded on different stock exchanges across the globe. These corporate have to publish their securities report in different languages corresponding to the locations and also need to translate documents for completing various formalities of the different stock exchanges globally from time to time. The analysis reports also need to be translated for study of the securities at various levels.
