Our Translation Process
Workflow
We at TranslationLeague have devoted years to developing an effective translation process that can accommodate our clients' needs. Our translation process also helps us to maintain quality standards and allow us to deliver completed translations within a specified timeframe.
You can see a general overview of what our translation process is for your German translation.
Step 1: Obtain a Free Quote
This is the first step to obtaining a German translation from us. Our project managers will collect enough data about your project in order to provide you with an accurate estimate of the costs involved. At this stage, you can either submit a copy of the document to be translated to us for review, or provide us with some basic details about your project.
Step 2: Order Placement / Payment
In step 2 of the translation process our project managers will provide you with an order form along with your free quote. Once you review the quote and are satisfied, fill out the form and return it to us. After a credit application / review is completed, we will also accept orders placed via purchase order. You can send your documents to us now if you have not already done so, via fax or email. We will also collect glossaries, notes or other supplementary materials from you at this point. Step 3: Translator Selection
As soon as we have received your payment and documents, we can begin the translation process. First, the project manager handling your case will select the translator who will perform your translation. Our translators are evaluated based on a number of different dimensions, from prior performance to fields of expertise. For more information on our translator selection process, see below.
Step 4: Translation
This step is the heart of the translation process, in which our translators hand-craft your target document using their industry-trained knowledge and linguistic expertise.
Step 5: Proofreading and Quality Assurance
This step involves two quality assurance passes, the first by our seasoned proofreaders, and the second by our project managers. Each document we translate is reviewed for technical problems and the errors are corrected. The proofreader then forwards the translation back to the project manager who has been working with you from the beginning, who will double check both the translator's and the proofreader's work. This step can sometimes involve formatting changes made to the final document. If either the proofreader or the project manager feels that our quality standards have not been met, the translation will be sent back to the beginning of Step 4 or Step 5, accordingly.
Step 6: Delivery
Once the final translation has been approved by the proofreader and the project manager, we will prepare it for delivery to you. At this point, certified translations will have the seal, stamp, signature, and contact information of the translator affixed to the final document. Notarized translations will be sent to be signed and stamped at the Notary Public. The final step in our workflow is to return an electronic copy of the completed translation to you via email. If you so choose, hard copies are available, and are shipped via FedEx.

Our workflow is flexible enough that we can cope with almost any contingency. We can incorporate minor changes to your translation project without difficulty, up until we deliver the final translation to you. (Additional fees may apply for extensive changes.) We notify our customers immediately if we encounter a delay, and do our best to anticipate and avoid snags in the process. In the event that you are unsatisfied with the final translation, simply send it back to us with any corrections you have and we will redo the entire process, incorporating your changes. We also put documents that have been resubmitted through a second round of quality assurance review.
Our Project Managers
Our project managers will walk an extra mile to ensure your satisfaction. These vital members of our staff work with you continuously throughout the translation process, serving as your liaison during the translation and providing quality management every step of the way. Your interaction with a project manager begins when you contact us for a free quote. While we conduct your translation, our project managers will answer any questions you might have. They will also continue to keep in contact with you beyond the completion of your translation, arranging for further projects and collecting feedback that we can use to assist you in the future.
Translation Resources
We devote extensive amounts of time and resources to the recruitment and management of our translators. We require that all applicants for translation positions be tested, and possess proven linguistic skills. We also filter out any translators who are not native speakers of the target language. Our specialty translators must also demonstrate extensive knowledge in their specialty subject areas.
TranslationLeague maintains a close relationship with each translator who works for us. We are able to retain the best translators in the industry because we provide them with clear instructions when working on projects and timely payments once the projects have been completed. We also allow our translators to work with the same clients, and many have done so for nearly five years. This extended relationship ensures reliable, repeadiv, and scalable translations provided at the quality level that you require.
